In a significant development, veteran Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has announced his retirement from T20 Internationals. The experienced cricketer took to his official handle on social media platform Instagram to make the announcement.

However, Jadeja clarified that he will continue to represent the country in ODIs and Tests.

"With a heart full of gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 internationals. Like a steadfast horse galloping with pride, I’ve always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats," Jadeja posted.

"Winning the T20 World Cup was a dream come true, a pinnacle of my T20 International career. Thank you for the memories, the cheers, and the unwavering support. Jai hind," he added.

Ravindra Jadeja's T20I career in a nutshell

As someone who could contribute handy runs besides being effective with the ball, Jadeja made his T20I debut against Sri Lanka way back in 2009.

Primarily hailed for his bowling skills in white-ball cricket, the wily left-arm spinner has scalped 54 wickets in 74 matches, while scoring 515 runs at a strike rate of 127.16.

However, the cricketer didn't get enough opportunity to showcase his prowess in the T20 World Cup 2024, with Axar Patel bringing his A-game, especially with the bat

Nevertheless, his late blitz proved pivotal for India in the semifinal against England, powering them to a 171-run total.

Despite retiring from T20Is, Jadeja will continue to be an asset for team India, particularly in the longest format.
