Afghanistan's ace spinner, Rashid Khan had a great time in India during the World Cup 2023. With his team winning four games at the greatest stage, he must be proud of the team and himself with the way they have improved over the years and given tough fights to the top teams.

Rashid while playing one of the matches during the league stage of the tournament, went off the field due to injury concerns. He went on to carry as his team needed his skills on the field, but he was prone to a back injury.

Recently, for the same reason, the leg-spinner withdrew from playing one of the prominent leagues of franchise cricket, the Big Bash League. Rashid plays for the Adelaide Strikers in the BBL and considers Adelaide as his second home. Although, they are yet to name his replacement but undoubtedly, they will miss his expertise in the coming season.

After undergoing successful lower-back surgery, Rashid shared a tweet for his fans and thanked them for their continuous support.

The Afghanistan team will be visiting India for the three-match T20I series starting on the 11th of January, 2024. They will hope that their leading spinner will be fit to join them for this historic series as they will be playing for the first time against India in a T20 bilateral series.
