Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan showcased his batting abilities against Australia, during their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 clash at Mumbai. Khan, known for his outrageous yet effective shot-making, slammed a quick-fire 18-ball 35*, which included as many as three sixes, including a pull-shot over the square-leg region off Mitchell Starc.

Riding on Khan's unbeaten 35, and Ibrahim Zadran's magnificent 101*, Afghanistan managed to pile 291 runs on the board against an in-form Australian attack at Wankhade.

Despite Zadran's 101, Khan became the talk of the town, which saw a clip of the Afghan leg-spinner with former India captain Virat Kohli resurface. 

In the short clip, Kohli coaches Khan on how to play the perfect pull shot, instructing the latter to focus on the pitch of the ball, and was taken during a clash between Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. 

Kohli could also be seen imitating Khan's now-famous snake-shot.

As of writing, Australia find themselves in deep trouble, with seven wickets down, and still needing 201 runs to win. Khan has already claimed wickets of Marcus Stoinis and Starc, and will look to close down Australia's tail as early as possible.

A win here, could mean Afghanistan's semi-final qualifications are alive, and will become a leading contender to claim the fourth and final spot.
