Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar and Umesh reunite for Diwali

On October 31, Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s wife Nupur Nagar shared a picture of her husband on Instagram. In the picture, Bhuvneshwar was also accompanied by yesteryear’s Indian teammates Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav alongside their respective families.

With all sporting ethnic clothes to celebrate the festive occasion of Delhi, Nupur Nagar accompanied her post with a caption that reads:

“Hum saath saath hai!!”

Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav are no longer in contention for national reckoning, at least for the foreseeable future. While Ishant played the last of his 105 Tests for Team India back in November 2021, Bhuvneshwar and Umesh have not played a single international match since November 2022 and June 2023 respectively.

The three speedsters, however, are still active in IPL for their respective franchises. Earlier this year, Ishant, Bhuvneshwar and Umesh played a number of matches for Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans respectively.

As of now, it remains to be seen if the three cricketers will be retained by their respective franchises for the IPL 2025 season. If unretained, each of the three seasoned Indian fast bowlers will enter the IPL 2025 mega auction, where they can generate much attention from other franchises due to their seniority.
