In fresh embarrassment for PCB, the PSL exhibition match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators would likely be scrapped as the Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar is deemed an unsatisfactory venue. According to reports, a PCB team conducted an inspection of the venue and found several deficiencies.

The 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to commence on April 11, with defending champions Islamabad United taking on two-time winners Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The six-team tournament will feature 34 matches from April 11 to May 18. However, ahead of the season, PCB has landed in controversy.

PCB Deems Arbab Niaz Stadium Unsatisfactory To Host PSL Exhibition Game

The highly anticipated PSL exhibition match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators, scheduled for April 8, 2025, at Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar, is now in jeopardy following a concerning report from the PCB.

A team reportedly assessed key aspects of the stadium, including the outfield, pitch conditions, dressing rooms, and media facilities. Their report highlighted that the pitch and outfield were below acceptable standards, while the dressing rooms lacked basic amenities.

Additionally, the media and commentary boxes were found to be inadequate, raising concerns over the stadium's readiness to host a high-profile match.

The exhibition match was planned as part of PCB’s broader initiative to engage local fans and generate excitement for PSL 10.

And hosting a match in Peshawar was seen as a significant step in that direction. However, the poor condition of Arbab Niaz Stadium has now put these efforts at risk.

Saim Ayub Likely Fit For PSL 10

Saim Ayub is nursing an ankle injury but recent reports claim that might be fit in time for the PSL 2025, where he represents Peshawar Zalmi alongside Babar Azam. According to a report by sports journalist Qadir Khawaja from Samaa TV, Saim has now completed his rehabilitation program in the UK and has arrived in Lahore.

The report further states that Ayub will undergo a fitness assessment at the National Cricket Academy soon. The results of this assessment will ultimately determine his participation in PSL 2025.
