Pakistan's white-ball skipper Babar Azam is going through a slump with the bat at the international stage. Meanwhile, his fans have not let their idol down and have shown their constant support to Babar.

In the recent events, Babar explored his religious side and took to social media to post a tweet on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi. " Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the light in the darkest hour, who taught us to see through the eyes of compassion," tweeted Babar.

Babar's post has come amid his poor run with the bat. Azam is on the course of registering his worst performance in a calendar year, as he did in 2024. Babar has amassed just 773 runs in 22 matches across formats, his worst performance since his international debut in 2015.

Babar, who averaged 39.9 in 2023, it has dipped to 34 in this year as he is even struggling to complete 1000 runs in 2024. Not just with the bat, but Babar is also under the scanner for his captaincy.

Babar Azam's Captaincy Under Threat

After a poor performance in the 2023 World Cup, Babar Azam stepped down as captain. After an early exit from the ODI World Cup 2023, Babar stepped down as the captain, but the PCB reinstated him as a white-ball skipper right in time for the T20 World Cup. However, the move backfired as Pakistan suffered an early exit from the elite T20 tournament.

Gary Kirsten To Meet Champions Cup Mentors

Pakistan's head coach Gary Kirsten, who was in the attendance on Monday, September 16, for the Champions One-Day Cup match, is reported to have a meeting with mentors and coaches to assess senior players' performance in the tournament.

Talking about Babar, he has done well for himself in the two matches as he scored a fifty in the first match and then played a run-a-ball 45-run knock in his latest match.
