In the latest development around the Champions Trophy 2025, a five-member team from the International Cricket Council (ICC) will arrive in Karachi, Pakistan, on Tuesday, September 17, to inspect the preparations ahead of the upcoming fifty-over event in Pakistan.

It will be a four-day visit, where the delegation will assess the stadium, practice facilities and hotels during their visit. They will start from Karachi and then proceed to Islamabad before concluding their visit in Lahore on September 21.

The ICC team that is set to arrive in Pakistan will consist of a senior events manager, events manager, security manager, general manager of cricket, and production manager.

ICC Inspection A Sign Of Concern For Pakistan

National Stadium in Karachi, Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, and Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore are the three venues finalised by the PCB for the upcoming fifty-over event. Renovation work at these stadiums is in full swing, which is one of the reasons why the Pakistan-Bangladesh 2nd Test was shifted from Karachi to Rawalpindi.

However, there were reports that the work is behind schedule for these three venues, which has left PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi frustrated. There are reports that PCB is considering shifting the upcoming home Test series against England out of the country and is likely to shift it to the UAE.

ICC CEO Confirms Pakistan As Host For Champions Trophy 2025

Recently, current ICC CEO Geoff Allardice confirmed that Champions Trophy will stay in Pakistan. He stated that all countries, barring India, are ready to play in Pakistan, and there is no change in the hosting rights of the upcoming event.

Talking about India, no official dialogue has taken place between India and ICC over their resentment to not travel to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025.
