A week ago, unfortunate news came out of Delhi, where a kid lost his life while playing cricket at a ground in West Delhi, where the boy touched a live wire while he went to collect the ball.

The deceased kid was taken to the nearby hospital but was declared dead. The incident occurred at a ground in West Delhi's Kotla Vihar Phase 2.

Delhi Police Arrests Cowshed Owner

What happened was that there was an electric pole in the stadium that provided electricity to a cowshed present within the ground. When the 13-year-old kid went to collect the ball, he came in contact with that pole and got electrocuted.

In the latest events, Delhi police have made their first arrest and gaushala owner Rishi Pal was questioned and put behind the bars.

Earlier, the police had registered the case under a section which stated that the boy died because of negligence. However, the mother accused of foul play of the power department and the cowshed owner who was held responsible for leaving the wire connection unattended, the Delhi police finally got into the act and on Tuesday, they arrested an accused in the case.

“After the death, we asked for property documents from the owner of the cricket academy, which was being run on the ground, and the gaushala owner. It was found that the live wire was connected to the gaushala, and electricity from the pole supplied power. The owner, Rishi Pal, was questioned and subsequently arrested,” a police officer stated.

Delhi police have also questioned one more suspect in the form of a cricket academy owner who operates in the region.
