One of the biggest occupations for former cricketers has often been working as a coach or starting a cricket academy, where young players are groomed into future superstars.

Over the years, opening a cricket academy has become quite a big industry in India, where stars like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Yusuf and Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, and Ravichandran Ashwin have invested.

Current India captain Rohit Sharma also ventured and opened his own academy named 'CricKingdom', which began operations back in 2019. Their latest establishment began on December 29 at Delhi World Public School, which is situated in Uttar Pradesh's Orai.

Overall, Sharma's CricKingdom has a presence in five countries — India, USA, Japan, Bangladesh, and Singapore — accounting for more than 34+ academies, recruiting over 35+ coaches for more than 5,000 young applied cricketers.

In India alone, CricKingdom has affiliations with several schools, which are based out of states like Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, UP, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, West Bengal, Odisha, Haryana, Karnataka, and Bhopal.

Former India and Mumbai bowler Dhawal Kulkarni is named as the mentor, with Sharma being the Brand Ambassador. The cricket curriculum is based on thorough research done on the syllabus followed by boards like the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Cricket Australia (CA), Cricket South Africa (CSA), and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Apart from coaching, CricKingdom also runs various age-group tournaments and the 'School Program' as well.
