In a not-so alarming turn of events, the Sri Lankan team were asked to hurriedly evacuate from their dressing room at the Old Trafford in Manchester due to a false fire alarm.

Although not a real emergency, this incident disrupted the team's preparations just a day before their much-awaited Test kickoffs against Ollie Pope led-England.

This incident created havoc amongst the Sri Lanka players as they all rushed towards the exits however, since it was a fake alarm, they all returned back to the dressing room 15 minutes of the incident.

Regarding the highly anticipated series, England have named four seamers in their lineup along with Shoaib Bashir as their only spinner. However, the team has suffered a setback with Zak Crawley being ruled out due to an injury.

This means that Dan Lawrence will open alongside Ben Duckett in all likeliness, a change that could potentially affect the team's strategy and performance.

On the other hand, Dhananjaya de Silva led Sri Lanka won 2-0 against Bangladesh in March-April 2024. This victory was a significant achievement for the Island Nation, showcasing their potential and form.

With England missing their two-star players, Ben Stokes and Zak Crawley, due to injuries, this is a golden moment for Sri Lanka to achieve a historic feat.
