Another day and another goof-up by Pakistan cricket board (PCB) has come to light. Since the new regime was set up under the leadership of Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan cricket has been under constant scrutiny over questionable policies and falling standards.

PCB faces another setback in hosting junior tournament!
Notably, PCB spent millions in setting up 18 regional teams for the tournament, and the three-day games began on Tuesday. However, after the first day’s play, the teams were informed that the tournament wouldn’t proceed as scheduled.
PCB released a press statement to announce that the decision was taken due to unavoidable circumstances. While the statement didn’t mention any details, a close source from the board revealed that the postponement decision was largely based on numerous complaints over age fraud and biased selection.
The source added that PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi ensured that transparency prevailed in team selections as regional coaches and board representatives were equally part of the selection process.
Not only that, the board spent millions in setting up camps, and offered accommodation, food, and travel allowances to players, besides providing kit bags and basic facilities.
Despite everything, Naqvi has been receiving complaints of many players manipulating age documents which disheartened the chief as he postponed the tournament.
ICC delegation to supervise Pakistan’s readiness for Championship Trophy
Besides the challenge of rebuilding Pakistan cricket, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi is gearing up to improve the stadium facilities to host the Champions Trophy in 2025.
With construction happening at Karachi, Rawalpindi and Lahore, the ICC reportedly plans to send a delegation to inspect the progress.
Once the delegation is satisfied with the board’s preparations, the release of tickets for sale for the tournament will begin.
