The ICC is pulling out all the stops to make the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 a memorable event in terms of excitement on the field and accessibility for fans. Scheduled to take place in the UAE from October 3 to 20.

Ticket Prices Start At Just 5 Dirhams

In a move aimed at drawing larger crowds, the ICC has announced that ticket prices for the tournament will start from as low as 5 Dirhams (approximately Rs 115). This affordable pricing is part of a broader strategy to ensure that as many people as possible can experience the thrill of high-quality women's cricket.

The initiative also includes a special offer: free entry for all those under 18. This decision reflects a commitment to nurturing the next generation of cricket fans and ensuring that young people can witness top-tier cricket live.

The tournament will feature 23 matches over 18 days, with 20 league games taking place across two key locations: Dubai and Sharjah. The semi-finals are set to unfold on October 17 and 18, respectively, with Dubai hosting the final match.

ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice expressed enthusiasm about the event's potential to leave a lasting legacy.

"One of the exciting things about the UAE is its diversity. It's a place where the entire world is represented! This means that this is effectively a home World Cup for all 10 teams and players can enjoy the support of passionate fans," he noted.

He also emphasised the collaborative efforts with the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) and the Dubai Sports Council to ensure the event's success and impact.

Laser Show Projected Onto Burj Khalifa

In a celebratory gesture, Allardice released a video featuring a stunning laser show projected onto the Burj Khalifa, highlighting the grandeur of the upcoming tournament. ECB Board Member Zaid Abbas echoed the excitement, looking forward to a successful collaboration with the ICC and the Bangladesh Cricket Board, the original host of the event.
