PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi, who also holds crucial positions in Pakistan government, has been elected as the new Asian Cricket Council president. After Jay Shah resigned as the ACC president and assumed office as the new ICC chairman, Naqvi was likely to be sworn in as his successor.

In his reaction, Mohsin Naqvi expressed his happiness upon being entrusted with the major administrative role. He also admitted to being committed to working with the members of Asian Cricket Council for the betterment of the game in the continent.

“I am deeply honoured to assume the presidency of the Asian Cricket Council. Asia remains the heartbeat of world cricket, and I am committed to working with all member boards to accelerate the game’s growth and global influence," he said.

"Together, we will unlock new opportunities, foster greater collaboration, and take Asian cricket to unprecedented heights. I also extend my sincere thanks to the outgoing ACC President for his leadership and contributions to the ACC during his tenure," he added.

Mohsin Naqvi worked tirelessly to bring cricket back to Pakistan, as the country hosted an ICC event after a long hiatus. He played a pivotal role in shaping the venues in Pakistan, remodelling the stadiums for the Champions Trophy.
