And in IPL, Punjab Kings (PBKS) recently took over Mumbai Indians (MI) to become the franchise with most successful 200 or more run chases in IPL history.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) delivered a remarkable performance against Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 4 to steal a last over thriller three wicket finish. 

With four wickets down at 70 runs, uncapped players Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma batted deep to chase down the 201 runs total in with a ball to spare.

In an astonishing win, Shashank Singh's class 29 ball 61 runs innings fetched him a player of the match award and also propelled PBKS to script IPL history.

Punjab Kings rewrites IPL history books!

With the magnificent win, Punjab Kings have surpassed five time IPL champions, Mumbai Indians, to become the team with the most number of successful 200+ runs chased in the history of the league. 

While MI held the record previously with five successful 200+ runs chase, with the latest win over GT, PBKS now rank first with six successful chases.

That being said, these statistics underscore the unpredictable and exhilarating nature of T20 cricket, where no target is considered out of reach with the right approach, mindset, and execution. 

This IPL 2024 season has witnessed some remarkable displays of batting prowess, with the highest IPL team total record broken twice already. Therefore, as the tournament progresses, successful run chases of massive totals will continue to be celebrated as iconic moments in the league's history.
