Top Indian cricketers like Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah paid a heartfelt tribute to Rohit Sharma after the MCA named a stand at the Wankhede Stadium in the Indian ODI skipper’s honour. The cricketers congratulated Rohit for the big achievement.

The newly opened "Rohit Sharma Stand," on the Divecha Pavilion Level 3, was inaugurated with a grand ceremony on 16th May, 2025, witnessed by dignitaries like Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and NCP leader Sharad Pawar.

Rohit made his parents take the honours, and the entire Mumbai Indians team made an appearance to watch the historic moment.

Mumbai Cricketers Congratulate Rohit Sharma

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians posted a heartwarming video on social media, featuring congratulatory messages from well-known cricketers, mostly from Mumbai.

Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer, and coach Abhishek Nayar expressed that having a stand of his own is a big achievement for Rohit, especially when he is an active cricketer.

They praised Rohit not just for his records on the field but also for his revolutionary leadership and humble nature.

The event occurred just after Rohit's retirement from Test cricket, after his previous resignation from T20Is after India's T20 World Cup victory in 2024.

Rohit Gets Emotional At His Stand Inauguration Event

Former Indian Test captain Rohit Sharma shared an emotional message after the inauguration of the ‘Rohit Sharma Stand’ at Wankhede Stadium, calling it one of the biggest honours of his career. 

With his family by his side, he expressed deep gratitude for their sacrifices and support. Rohit called the moment surreal and said walking onto the field with a stand named after him will be incredibly special, especially when representing both the Mumbai Indians and Team India.
