Imran Khan, who served as the Prime Minister of Pakistan between 2018 and 2022, was arrested from his Lahore house back in August 2023 in Toshakhana case. He was subsequently transferred to a prison near Islamabad, after the Islamabad court had sentenced him to three years in prison.

While his sentence was later suspended by the High Court, he was once again arrested in the cipher case. As per a PTI report, the cipher case concerns a diplomatic cable that went missing from his possession.

Imran Khan, a legendary Pakistani cricket veteran before making his way into politics, had made his international debut back in 1971 with a Test match against England at Birmingham. Overall, the prodigious all-round talent turned up for his country in 88 Tests and 175 ODI matches between the years 1971 and 1992.

Khan’s final international appearance also turned out to be one of Pakistan’s most celebrated cricketing moments, as he led his side to their first-ever World Cup title by defeating England in the 1992 final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
