After a disheartening loss in the opening Test of the five-match series against England at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, all eyes are now on India's resurgence as they head to the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam for the second Test.

India's history in Test cricket at Vizag paints a picture of dominance. The team has played two Tests at the venue, clinching victory in both encounters convincingly. The stadium witnessed its maiden red-ball international fixture in November 2016 when India squared off against England. Led by then-captain Virat Kohli, India secured a commanding 246-run win, with Kohli's stellar batting earning him the Player of the Match award.

The memories of Vizag hold a special place for off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who delivered a memorable performance with a five-wicket haul in the first innings of the inaugural Test at the venue.

In October 2019, Vizag witnessed another masterclass from the Indian team as they faced South Africa. Led by impressive batting displays from Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma, India cruised to a 203-run victory. Ashwin once again showcased his brilliance, bagging a seven-wicket haul in the first innings.

However, India's preparations for the upcoming Test have been marred by injuries to key players KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja, adding to the challenge of bouncing back. Rahul's absence will be felt in the middle-order, while Jadeja's all-round contributions will be sorely missed.

As India braces for a crucial battle in Vizag, they aim to replicate their past successes and turn the tide in their favor, seeking redemption after the setback in Hyderabad.
