Azam Khan has faced numerous trolls and fitness critics because of his apparently 'heavy' appearance and sloppy movements on the field. For the records, the wicketkeeper batter has been messy in some incidents where he let down both with the bat and the gloves with bizarre mistakes, caused primarily because of his 'heavier-side' body structure.

However, in a recently shared video by ILT20's official social media handle, the 26-year-old Pakistan cricketer appeared to be on a roll as he performed a couple of athletic moves to shush down the fitness critics.

In a video shared on ILT20's official X handle, Azam Khan was seen performing a cartwheel roll, which he landed successfully on his knees, and a couple of cricketing shots in the nets as he gears up for his second stint with the Desert Vipers in the 2025 season.

While Azam put on a show with his athletic dives and rolls on the field, the question mark still hangs on his ability to perform in a match, a fact he has yet to prove. While he is renowned for being an explosive batter, tragically, his average across formats revolves close to 26. 

Azam's ILT20 Career With Desert Vipers

Azam Khan's performance, however, has been modest in his previous stint with the Vipers. In the 2024 edition, Azam played 7 matches and accumulated 159 runs with a half-century to his name, while achieving a batting average of 31.80. He also displayed a remarkable strike rate of 176.66 reflecting his aggressive style of play.

Azam Khan's T20 Career

Azam Khan's T20 career has been underwhelming, with his statistics revealing a lack of consistency and impact. In 173 matches, he has only managed to score 3,337 runs, with a poor average of 24.18, indicating struggles to build substantial innings. Despite having the highest score of 109, his overall strike rate of 147.39 suggests that while he can score quickly at times, his performances have been far from reliable.

The ILT20 presents a significant opportunity for Azam to improve his reputation as a 'sloppy' cricketer. His fans are eager to see his exceptional skills both with the bat and behind the stumps, as this performance could influence Pakistan's decision to consider him for more prominent roles.
