The South Africa Women vs Pakistan Women ODI series ended on September 22 with South Africa Women clinching the series 2-1. However, what drew attention was South Africa captain Marizanne Kapp's special tweet on her X handle, taking a dig at Pakistan women's cricket.
While South Africa Women won the first two matches, the third ODI saw Pakistan claim a six-wicket victory. Nevertheless, a win is a win, and Marizanne Kapp seemed to underline that tone.
Kapp's witty play of words for Pakistan Women
Taking to her ex-handle, Marizanne Kapp shared pictures of her practicing with the bat in the nets on the morning of September 24. The pictures showed her sweating it out while playing some classy drives and shots. What stood out most was the caption. Marizanne Kapp wrote, “Pakistan done and dusted. On to the World Cup.”

While it appears to be a casual caption highlighting South Africa women's solid confidence ahead of the World Cup, it also serves as a sharp dig at Pakistan Women, who lost the three-match ODI series on their home soil.
Proteas Women confident after delivering against Pakistan
The first match saw SA-W chase a comfortable 256-run target, winning by 8 wickets. The second match, however, was perhaps influenced by the rain gods, as SA-W won via the DLS method. The third ODI, however, favoured the hosts, who secured a comfortable six-wicket victory after bundling out Proteas Women for just 115 runs to complete an easy chase.
Notably, Marizanne Kapp, the 35-year-old veteran, played just a single match against Pakistan in the first ODI, where she delivered a match-winning knock of 120 runs off 128 balls at a strike rate of 93.75.
South Africa Women will now head into their first Women's World Cup match against England Women on October 3, with the major tournament beginning on September 30.
