Niroshan Dickwella Banned! SL Star Found Guilty Of Anti-Doping Violation In LPL 2024

Niroshan Dickwella, the Lankan wicketkeeper batter has been banned by Sri Lanka cricket after being found guilty of violating anti-doping rules in Lankan Premier League 2024. He was the captain of Galle Marvels and has been found to be using recreational drugs which were against the rules out of the tournament.

The wicketkeeper batter has been suspended from all forms of cricket with immediate effect, and the test was conducted by Sri Lanka's Anti-Doping Agency (SLADA) during LPL 2024

According to the media release by Sri Lankan cricket, the initiative to take anti-doping Test was part of the collaboration between Ministry Of Sports and Sri Lankan cricket in accordance to the guidelines of World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

Niroshan Dickwella's Disciplinary Issues

Niroshan Dickwella is not new to controversies and was banned previously in 2021 for breaching bio-bubble during Covid times along with Kusal Mendis and Danushka Gunathilake. The wicketkeeper batter last played for Sri Lanka in a Test match against New Zealand at Christchurch and his career has been a start-stop affair so far after a promising start in 2014.
