Jay Shah, at just 35 years old, has made history by becoming the youngest chairman ever of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Taking the reins from New Zealand's Greg Barclay, Shah will officially assume his new role on December 1.

His election marks a significant moment in cricket governance, as he joins the ranks of prominent Indian figures like Jagmohan Dalmiya, Sharad Pawar, N Srinivasan, and Shashank Manohar, who have also held this esteemed position.

In response to this monumental achievement, India's star fast bowler, Mohammed Siraj, took to Instagram to express his congratulations.

Siraj’s caption read: "A massive moment. My best wishes to @jayshah220988 Sir on being elected as the new ICC chairman. May you grow to greater heights and continue doing fine work for our sport. Congratulations 🙏."

Siraj Ruled Out of Duleep Trophy 24-25

On a different note, Mohammed Siraj has been ruled out of the first round of the Duleep Trophy 2024-25 due to illness. The tournament’s first round, featuring India A versus India B and India C versus India D, will commence on September 5.

Siraj’s absence, along with that of Umran Malik, has led to the inclusion of Navdeep Saini and Gaurav Yadav as their replacements.
