Pakistan batting veteran Mohammad Rizwan scored handy runs in his side’s emphatic win over Nepal in their Asia Cup 2023 opener. The cricketer overcame top-order jitters and formed a crucial 86-run stand with skipper Babar Azam to take Pakistan past the 100-run mark.

While an unfortunate runout curtailed Rizwan’s well-set stay at 44, he set up an ideal stage for his teammates to amass a huge total in the death overs.

The 31-year-old, who remains a force to be reckoned with on the field, seems to be a humble personality off it as he was recently seen lending a helping hand towards Sri Lankan groundsmen ahead of their next game.

In a short video circulating on X (formerly Twitter), the caption reads:

“Nice to see Mohamed Rizwan assisting the Sri Lankan Groundsmen. He is a gem of a guy.”

A legion of Pakistani supporters took to X and expressed their honest reactions over Rizwan’s gesture, with some hailing his humble personality. Here is a look at some of the fans reacting to the cricketer’s helping hand for the Sri Lankan ground staff.

Meanwhile, the ‘Men in Green’ under Babar Azam are bracing themselves to face India to continue their Asia Cup 2023 campaign in Sri Lanka.

They launched their Super Four share of fixtures against Bangladesh at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on September 6.
