Pakistan's former pacer, Mohammad Amir, is set to play for a star-studded Trinbago Knight Riders in CPL 2025. The speedster's services have been secured by the franchise in the draft held on June 18.
Trinbago Knight Riders are one of the most celebrated teams in the CPL history and have plenty of superstars in their squad. Ahead of the draft, they retained six players, which included Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Nicholas Pooran, Akeal Hosein and Alex Hales.
Thus, they were already a power-packed unit, and now Amir's addition, along with overseas stars like Colin Munro, Usman Tariq and Ali Khan has strengthened their squad further. The franchise also have players like Darren Bravo, Yannic Cariah and Joshua Da Silva with international experience and it makes them one of the teams to watch out this season.
Mohammad Amir Continues His 'Hot Property' Status In T20 Franchise Leagues
Mohammed Amir has been playing CPL regularly since the 2021 season. He has played for three different franchises - Barbados Royals, Jamaica Tallawahs and Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the league so far and has done quite well with 51 wickets in 39 matches.
The left-arm seamer has retired from international cricket but has continued to play consistently in the T20 leagues across the globe. Overall, the Pakistan star has played 331 T20 matches, picking up 381 wickets, and his ability to deliver both with the new ball and at the death makes him a hot property in the shortest format of the game.
Thus, Mohammad Amir's addition adds more depth and experience to the TKR's pace attack. The Kieron Pollard-led unit lost the Eliminator in the last season and would be looking to go full distance this time around, having won their last CPL title in 2020.
