Glenn Maxwell was not in great form in IPL 2025 and got injured midway amidst questions over his credentials as a player in T20 franchise leagues. However, whenever the Australian gets going, it is pretty hard to stop him, and he displayed that again with a scintillating century for Washington Freedom in MLC 2025.

The 'Big Show' as Maxwell is fondly known, smashed an unbeaten 106 from just 49 balls against Los Angeles Knight Riders in match eight of the 2025 edition. His knock helped his team get to a big score of over 200 ,and they eventually won the game by 113 runs.

Glenn Maxwell Joins Pooran, Klaasen In Elite List Of MLC Centurions

It was Maxwell's first century in the Major League Cricket and seventh overall in the history of the league. This is the third edition of the Major League Cricket and in the 2023 season, it was Heinrich Klaasen who hit the maiden century. He smashed 110 from just 44 balls for San Francisco Unicorns against MI New York. Nicholas Pooran in the same season stepped up for MI New York as he blasted 137 from 55 deliveries for Seattle Orcas. 

In the 2024 season, Faf du Plessis displayed his class for Texas Super Kings with a 100 from just 58 balls against Washington Freedom. Another South African, Ryan Rickelton, also joined the party in the same season with his 103 for the Seattle Orcas against the Los Angeles Knight Riders.

List Of Players With Centuries In MLC 

Finn Allen, the Kiwi opener has two centuries to his name. The first one came in the 2024 season while the recent one was the highest score in the history of the tournament with 151 from just 51 deliveries against Washington Freedom.

Thus, most of the centurions in the Major League Cricket are the top-order batters. Heinrich Klaasen, was the exception before this season, and now Glenn Maxwell has joined the list.
