Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has made history by becoming the bowler with the most wickets in ICC tournament finals, breaking the previous record held by India’s Mohammed Shami.
Starc achieved this remarkable feat during the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final between Australia and South Africa at the famous Lord’s Cricket Ground on June 11.
In the match, Australia batted first but managed to score only 212 runs. South African bowler Kagiso Rabada took five wickets, putting the Aussies' batting lineup under pressure. However, Steve Smith and Beau Webster stood out by scoring 66 and 72 runs respectively to help their team reach a decent score. The real star of the day, though, was Mitchell Starc with the ball.
