Young pace sensation Mayank Yadav is creating waves in Indian cricket. The selectors have shown keen interest in fast-tracking his return to the national team. According to reports, he has been included in a special camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to evaluate and prepare him for upcoming international assignments.

He has been undergoing rehabilitation and training following an injury sustained during IPL 2024. He is joined by cricketers Riyan Parag, Abhishek Sharma, and all-rounder Hardik Pandya.

Mayank Yadav Likely To Receive Call-Up For Bangladesh T20I

According to the Times of India, Mayank's recovery is progressing smoothly, with no signs of pain over the past month. He has been bowling at full intensity in the nets, a promising sign for the Indian cricket selectors, who are eager to see how ready he is for international cricket.

"Mayank hasn't complained of any pain over the last month or so. He is bowling full tilt at the NCA. The selectors are interested to see how ready he is for international cricket. With the long Test season ahead, the selectors are keen on trying new faces for the T20Is against Bangladesh," a BCCI source told the Times of India.

According to the same reports, the selectors are likely to consider Mayank for the upcoming Bangladesh T20I series, as they can likely rest Jasprit Bumrah, who will be preserved for the subsequent Test matches against New Zealand.

In addition to the T20I series, Mayank Yadav is also in contention for a place in the squad for the New Zealand Test series. The selectors are keen to try him out in the red-ball format, even though he has not yet played Ranji Trophy cricket for Delhi this season.

“Mayank isn’t in line to play Ranji Trophy, but the selectors are likely to ask him to travel with the India squad for the New Zealand Test series. The selectors don’t want him to be restricted to just the T20 format. They want to carefully monitor his progress,” said a source familiar with the situation.

The upcoming months will be important for Mayank Yadav as he continues his journey to full fitness and aims for a breakthrough in international cricket.
