We have often heard the saying that manifestations do come true if done with a whole heart. A similar situation was seen during the Asia Cup 2025. Tilak Varma and Rinku Singh turned their personal dreams into collective glory, guiding India to their ninth Asia Cup title with a five-wicket win against Pakistan.
Tilak Varma and Rinku Singh's vision set on paper
Before the Asia Cup 2025 began, the Indian team management handed each player a plain white sheet and asked players to write their dream on it. It was more than a ritual. It was a manifestation of intent.
Tilak Varma wrote on it: “To play a match-winning knock in a big game.”
Rinku Singh’s message was: “To score the winning runs for India in the final.”
On Sunday night in Dubai, these dreams did not just stay on paper. They unfolded on the field, under pressure.
Tilak Varma’s composed brilliance in Asia Cup final
Chasing a target of 147, India was rocked early as the 'Men In Blue' lost 3 wickets for just 20 runs. Amid the difficult situation, it was Tilak Varma who stepped up. The 22-year-old southpaw anchored the innings with an unbeaten 69 off 53 balls, forming crucial partnerships with Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube. His calmness, calculated strokeplay, and rotation of strike kept India on track, even as wickets fell around him.
Rinku Singh’s perfect finish
Rinku Singh did not get a single match and sat out for the entire group stage and Super Four matches due to team combinations in the Asia Cup. But fate and injury to Hardik Pandya before the final allowed him to play in the final.
The moment everyone had been waiting for came in the final over. With just two runs needed and Tilak set at the crease, it would have been easy for the southpaw to finish it off. But destiny had a different plan.
Tilak tapped a single, handing Rinku the strike. On the very first ball he faced, Rinku smashed it over long-on for four, and as he did so, he scored the winning runs for India in the final.
Along with these players, Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube had also expressed their intentions that India would win the Asia Cup, and their manifestation was also fulfilled.
