Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjeev Goenka praised Rishabh Pant for his twin hundreds in the Headingley Test vs England. The LSG skipper scored back-to-back historic tons in 2 innings and forced Goenka to stand and take notice.
Pant, India’s new Test vice-captain, entertained the fans with a swashbuckling 134 off 178 balls in the first inning of the Headingley Test against England. However, the wicket-keeper batter was hungry for more.
Rishabh Pant Leaves Sanjeev Goenka Awestruck With Twin Hundreds
In the third inning, India had a marginal lead of 6 runs. KL Rahul led the charge with a stunning century. On the other hand, Rishabh Pant was also in a mood to charge down the English bowlers.
He once again pulled off some unorthodox and audacious shots to reach another hundred. Pant scored 118 off 140 balls with 15 fours and 3 sixes to smash twin hundreds in both innings of a Test match.
His redemption comes after a flop IPL season where he scored 269 runs in 14 games and LSG failed to qualify for playoffs.
Regardless of how the IPL season panned out, LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka celebrated Rishabh Pant’s twin centuries in Headingley. He described Pant’s ton as aggressive, audacious, and brilliant. Not only that, Goenka also appreciated KL Rahul’s knock.
"Two good! Back-to-back centuries for @RishabhPant17. Aggressive, audacious, brilliant. Only the second wicketkeeper in history to score a century in both innings of a Test," Goenka said.

Sanjeev Goenka was quite animated during the IPL 2025 season as he saw Rishabh Pant fail inning after inning. He bought the wicket-keeper for INR 27 crore during the mega auction. But Pant didn’t live up to the expectations.
Having said that, Pant’s rise in Test cricket could be a glimmer of hope for Sanjeev Goenka and LSG, as the wicket-keeper is indeed the future of the franchise in IPL.
