On Sunday, May 25, Chennai Super Kings registered an emphatic 60-run win over Gujarat Titans to finish the tournament on a high. Overall, the MS Dhoni-led side have had an embarrassing season as the five-time winners finished last on the table for the first time in IPL history.

It is worth noting that Chennai Super Kings have had a humiliating season as the Men in Yellow managed to gather just 8 points in 14 matches. It has been a season to forget for the Super Kings as they also scripted several embarrassing feats and this article will shed light on that.

1. Finish Last For The First Time

It is worth noting that CSK, who are the joint-most successful IPL team, never finished last in the history of the points table in IPL. They were the only active team left, who were in the IPL since the start, to not have finished last on the table.

Now with CSK last on the table, it is their new low in the IPL as they previously finished 9th on the table in IPL 2022.

2. RCB Won At Chepauk After 17 Years

This year witnessed that several teams broke their Chepauk Stadium curse and one of them were RCB, who beat CSK at the Chepauk Stadium after 17 years.

Before IPL 2025, the last time RCB beat CSK in Chennai was in 2008, which was the inaugural season. The two teams locked horns on March 28, where RCB made a statement as they handed the five-time winners a 50-run defeat.

RCB, batting first, put 196 runs on the board, while the hosts only managed to score 146 runs in reply, registering embarrassment.

3. SRH won at Chepauk for the first time ever

While RCB registered a win at the Chepauk Stadium after 17 years, SRH too scripted their first-ever win at the Chepauk Stadium. When the two teams squared off, CSK only put 154 runs on the board, while SRH comfortably chased the target with five wickets in hand.

4. DC Beat CSK After 15 Years

It has been a year since the Chepauk fortress was reduced to bricks as Delhi Capitals too captured Chepauk Stadium after 15 years. In the initial days of IPL, CSK sank to an all-time low after they registered the defeats at home for the first time in IPL history.

Talking about the DC vs CSK match, DC put 183 runs on the board away from home, while Chennai only managed to collect 158 runs and registered a 25-run win.
