The Chennai Super Kings ended their IPL 2025 campaign on a high after an emphatic win over the Gujarat Titans on Sunday. Every single CSK player contributed towards the win, but there was one star who looked cut from a different cloth and he was the wily spinner, Noor Ahmad.

With the pitch assisting the spinners a bit, Noor showed his class and picked up 3 for 21 inside 4 overs to become the new Purple Cap Holder with 24 wickets to his name. He overtook GT pacer, Prasidh Krishna, who currently has 23 scalps to his name.

Prior to the contest, Noor Ahmad had 21 wickets and the CSK spinner showed his magic skills as he scalped 3 wickets and broke GT's backbone. Prasidh still stands at second place and with GT going to the playoffs instead of CSK, the pacer has a much better chance to finish as the leading wicket-taker at the end of the tournament.

Trent Boult, the MI pacer sits at the third position with 19 wickets and Hazlewood, Chakaravarthy follow him in the 4th and 5th spot.

How Noor broke GT's batting backbone

CSK posted a commanding 230/5 in their 20 overs and GT were never really in the chase as they lost 3 early wickets in the powerplay. He dismissed Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan and Arshad Khan as the spinner didn't allow the middle and lower middle order to make a comeback in the match.
