Has RCB Ever Beaten CSK?

Yes, RCB has defeated CSK before, but victories have been rare. The first-ever encounter between these two teams was on April 28, 2008, when CSK won by 13 runs. However, RCB did manage to beat CSK in Chennai that same year, which remains their only victory at this venue till date.

The last time RCB won at Chepauk was on May 21, 2008. Back then, Rahul Dravid led the team and chose to bat first. He played a crucial knock of 47 runs before falling to Morne Morkel. Praveen Kumar added 21 runs, while young Virat Kohli and Shreevats Goswami contributed 10 runs each. RCB posted a total of 127 runs.

In response, CSK started well with Parthiv Patel and Stephen Fleming. However, Anil Kumble dismissed Patel for 24 runs, and Vinay Kumar sent MS Dhoni back for just four runs. Though Fleming held his ground with 45 runs, CSK couldn’t chase down the target and fell short, finishing at 112/8.
