In a ground-breaking development, the Indian broadcasters have taken a U-turn and have decided to broadcast Virat Kohli's Ranji Trophy return. The India great had an average Australia tour and after a poor result in the series, the BCCI made strict policies which prompted the Indian players to play domestic matches.

Kohli will mark his return to the Ranji Trophy with a game against Railways on January 30, and Jio Cinema have taken the responsibility to live stream the return of the India stalwart back to the domestic setup.

Earlier, it was reported that Kohli's comeback won't be broadcasted anywhere, but seeing his popularity and the demand, the broadcasters decided to stream the contest between Delhi and Railways, set to take place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

Kohli prepares for upcoming Ranji Trophy clash

Kohli joined his Delhi teammates on Tuesday morning and started his preparation for the Ranji game. He started with running and could be seen playing Football as a part of his warm up. Interestingly, he was offered the captaincy role for the clash against Railways, however, Kohli declined the offer.

Recently, he also worked with former India batting coach, Sanjay Bangar in order to prepare for the upcoming challenges. The DDCA has arranged for 10,000 free seats for the fans to witness Kohli's comeback in Ranji Trophy.

The importance of Ranji game for Kohli

The likes of Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and other Indian stars also played in Ranji Trophy 2025, and Virat will mark his return on 30th. The champion batter has been going through a rough patch and the upcoming clash could allow him to play freely without any pressure and this could allow the right-handed batter to get some runs under his belt before the England ODIs and Champions Trophy.
