The Test season is far from over as we head into another exciting battle as Australia and Sri Lanka gear up to cross blades with one another. The first Test match of the multi-format series is slated to take place on 29 January, Wednesday at the infamous Galle International Cricket Stadium. The match will begin at 10 AM IST and the toss will take place thirty minutes prior.
Soaring high on victory and confidence, Australia is coming at the back of a dominating triumph and run in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. After losing in Perth, the team bounced back stronger than ever and snatched BGT from India's arms. However, not everything remains the same for the Australian squad as they are without the services of their regular skipper, Pat Cummins. The 31-year-old was ruled out of the series due to ankle soarness, in his place however, Steve Smith will take charge of the team.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka has had quite the opposite luck as they lost their two-match Test series against South Africa. Nevertheless, the Lankan Lions led by Dhananjaya de Silva will aim to come back and potentially use the home-advantage to their fullest.
As the two teams prepare to lock horns, let us take a look at the weather predictions for this clash:
