Despite plenty of rumours, KL Rahul is all set to stay at Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for IPL 2025 until and unless things go drastically south in the times to come.

LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka referred to Rahul as 'family', and it is safe to say that he personally wants to see him continue to play in his team.

“I don’t want to comment on speculation. All I will say is KL Rahul is family,” Sanjeev Goenka said, as quoted by RevSportz Global.

Rahul had an unexpected conversation with Goenka during the IPL 2024, from where speculations began that he would leave the franchise before the mega auction takes place later this year. He might still be, although the recent statement from the LSG owner suggested that he would not like to see it happen in reality.

It will be interesting to see whether Rahul, if he remains at LSG, will continue to be their captain or not.

When Did KL Rahul Join Lucknow Super Giants?

Rahul joined LSG as the most expensive player before IPL 2022, getting a contract worth a whopping INR 17 crore. He was drafted by the franchise, who made their tournament debut back then alongside Gujarat Titans.

Before joining LSG, Rahul played for three IPL franchises – Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings), Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Sunrisers Hyderabad, making his debut way back in 2013.
