Keshav Maharaj has been a consistent performer for South Africa across formats in the last few years. He has even led the Proteas in the shorter formats, and the man is one of the most reliable cricketers with his ability to deliver under pressure. Now, in the second Test between West Indies and South Africa, he created history by becoming the leading wicket-taker among South African spinner with 171 wickets in 52 Test matches.

He surpassed Hugh Tayfield, the South African off-spinner who played 37 Test matches for South Africa from 1949-60 and picked 170 wickets. Keshav Maharaj's record is testimony of his success in different conditions and he even bagged the 'Player of the Series' award in the two-match Test series against the Windies with 13 wickets in four innings.
