The former Australian cricketer and current Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) head coach, Justin Langer, in his recent visit to Mumbai went to the Dharavi slums and spent some time with the community and saw the people having a positive outlook towards life despite their daily struggle for survival.

Justin Langer visited the house of the LSG physiotherapist in the slums of Dharavi and was left shocked by how people were living a life like that. He called it a humbling like never before.

“After a life of living what I would now define as extreme luxury, I was humbled like never before seeing how other human beings live their day-to-day lives," Langer revealed on The Nightly.

He also called his visit an eye-opener for what really matters in this life citing how difficult it is to even find a way to have a meal even twice a day and still how simply and happily the people are living in those areas.

"My trip to the slums of Mumbai opened my eyes to what really matters in life. Seeing their smiles and hearing their stories made me realize how much we often take for granted."

Langer also reflected upon the importance of giving it back to the society once you are doing well in life and are far away from these daily hardships.

"It’s easy to get caught up in the pursuit of success and forget what truly matters. This visit reminded me of the value of human connections and the importance of giving back."

On the professional front, Langer's Lucknow failed to qualify for the IPL playoffs for the first time in their brief history in the league.
