Peter Moor, the elusive cricketer who represented two nations in international cricket, has retired from international cricket at the age of 34. Moor, who began his career with Zimbabwe before changing sides to play for Ireland, has now hung up his boots, bringing an end to a special and fascinating career.

Born in Harare, Moor made his debut for Zimbabwe in 2014 in an ODI against Bangladesh. Over the next few years, he played 49 ODIs and 21 T20Is for Zimbabwe, scoring 827 ODI runs with four half-centuries and 364 runs in T20Is, including an unbeaten 92.

In red-ball cricket, he made his Test debut for Zimbabwe in 2016, playing eight Tests and scoring five fifties.

Later in his career, Peter Moor took advantage of his Irish roots, his paternal grandmother was Irish, and he began a new chapter with Ireland. He debuted for Ireland in Tests in 2023 and played a total of seven Tests.

His finest performance was in July 2024, when he made 79 runs against Zimbabwe, his previous team. That was his solitary fifty for Ireland in Tests. Moor's final international game was in February 2025 in a Test match against Zimbabwe, in which he made 4 and 30.

Even though he once dreamed of playing for Ireland in the World Cup, that was not to be. His last professional game was just one day prior to his announcement to retire, on July 10, 2025, for Munster Reds in Dublin.

Moor contributed a brisk innings of 35 runs from 16 balls, with two fours and three sixes. His side won by 100 runs, and Curtis Campher made the headlines by taking five wickets in five balls.

Although his international journey has ended, Moor is expected to continue playing domestic and T20 league cricket in the future.
