In a phenomenal achievement, ace Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah has become the number one ranked bowler in the recently updated ICC Men's Test bowling rankings. Bumrah played a pivotal role in India's clinical victory over England in the second Test of the ongoing five-match series in Visakhapatnam.

Leading the pace attack, Bumrah recorded a magnificent six-fer to rattle the Englishmen in the first innings. If that wasn't enough, the right-arm pacer further scalped three crucial wickets in the second innings to help India stamp their authority. His exceptional performance in that Test earned Bumrah crucial rating points, helping him claim the top position in the rankings.

Thus, Bumrah has become the first-ever player to top the bowlers’ rankings in all three formats of the game. This feat is an official statement on of his incredible bowling attributes, which he has been hailed for since his international debut.

His current rating of 881 points is his best-ever in a six-year-long Test career. He is followed by veteran South African pacer Kagiso Rabada, who is placed second with 851 rating points.

Bumrah’s rise in the rankings has resulted in the downfall of Ravichandran Ashwin, who has slipped two places to number three on the list.

Among others, young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has jumped 37 places up to number 29 in the batters’ rankings, riding on his sensational double ton in the Visakhapatnam Test. Similarly, English opener Zak Crawley has improved eight spots up to number 22 following his valiant knocks in the same game.
