With the series level at 1-1, India are all set to host England at the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) Stadium in Rajkot for the 3rd Test of this five-match Test series. But, before the action gets underway on 15th February, BCCI secretary Jay Shah will unveil the stadium's new name in a small ceremony on 14th February.

England got off to a flying start in the Test series as they came back from behind and won the first Test. But India managed to bounce back and square things up thanks to exceptional performances from Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Jasprit Bumrah.

While everyone awaits the start of the 3rd Test, BCCI is all set to rename the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium. The stadium will now be named after former first-class cricketer Niranjan Shah.

The 79-year-old played 12 first-class games for Saurashtra back in the 1960s and 70s. He was the SCA secretary for almost four decades. Shah served as the BCCI secretary as well as the chairman of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in the past.

In a small ceremony that will be held a day prior to the 3rd Test, BCCI's secretary Jay Shah will unveil the new name as confirmed by SCA secretary Himanshu Shah.

Himanshu Shah via News18: “Jay bhai Shah will unveil the new name and we have also sent out invites to senior BCCI officials for the ceremony. In a couple of days, we will have confirmations from all the dignitaries and office bearers we have invited.”

Invites to senior BCCI officials have already been sent, and he is also hopeful about the players being present during the ceremony as they have a practice session scheduled during that time. While he can't confirm the player's presence, they will be officially invited to the ceremony.
