James Anderson To Be Replaced By Ollie Robinson In 3rd Test Against India?

James Anderson missed out on the first Test but made a rollicking comeback in the 2nd Test and impressed one and all with his superb skills. He took five wickets in the match and used his experience to great effect. However, with age not on his side, England management might be tempted to rest him for third Test and get him back fresh for the fourth Test at Ranchi.

According to the images and reports that are surfacing from England training session, it has been noted that Ollie Robinson has been bowling a lot of balls while James Anderson has been seen just doing his stretches and relaxing with his other teammates.

Ollie Robinson did not play initial two Test matches and with England trying to rotate their pacers in tough Indian conditions, he might get a nod in this Test match.

Also, England have played only one pacer in each of the Test match so far, and if the pitch if bit less conducive for the spinners in Rajkot, they might play both James Anderson and Ollie Robinson.

However, resting an in-form James Anderson can also backfire for England as apart from Bumrah and Anderson, other pacers have been completely ineffective in this series. The third Test is scheduled to start on 15th of February and it would be interesting to see what combination they prefer, with series levelled at 1-1.
