IPL 2025 schedule to be announced next week [Source: @CricCrazyJohns/X.com]
The IPL 2025 schedule was set to come out in a couple of days, however, it seems the decision to announce the schedule has been delayed and as per Sports Tak, the IPL governing body will release the schedule by next week. While the 18th edition of the cash-rich league will commence on March 21, fans are eagerly waiting for the schedule to be released.
Earlier, there were reports that IPL will reveal the schedule within this week, but now the fans have to wait a little longer to know the fixtures of the upcoming edition.
DC, RR in disadvantage?
In a massive development, Sports Tak has also revealed that two IPL franchises, mainly Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals will play two of their home games away from home. Notably, DC will play two of its home games in Vizag, while the away venue for RR is yet to be disclosed.
Even last season, Delhi had to play its few matches in Vizag since WPL ended closer to when IPL 2024 began and the Arun Jaitley Stadium was not ready to host IPL matches as a quality surface had to be prepared. RR will most likely play their home matches in Guwahati, a venue where they have played before.
New rules implemented
The IPL 2025 will implement the Players' Code of Conduct set by the ICC. Earlier, the IPL used to follow its own guidelines, but from the upcoming season, that will change as the players will follow a universal guidelines set by cricket's governing body.
The IPL 2025 season is set to commence from March 21 as confirmed by Rajiv Shukla, and the Eden Gardens will likely host the finals of the league.
