Britannia Snacks launched a new scheme to advertise their new product, croissants, using Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). They apparently put a large board of croissants and asked people who are loyal to pick ones for free.

RCB, despite not having won an IPL title since 2008, enjoys an enormous fan base. Their slogan "Ee Sala Cup Namde" has become synonymous with the hope and passion they carry each season.

Being the most devoted and active fan following in the cricket leagues, the fans of RCB are massive in number, with a very strong digital presence. Moreover, the fans are often praised for their loyalty towards the franchise.

Britannia uses RCB fans' loyalty for marketing

Meanwhile, the Britannia company used RCB fans and their loyalty for marketing gimmicks. They recently launched a new product of croissants and sarcastically invited those who are as loyal as RCB fans to pick ones for free.

In a picture doing rounds on social media, Britannia had set up a huge board with croissants attached to it. The teasing message on the board invited people to pick one packet each for free.

The post went viral on social media as fans appreciated the company’s humorous marketing technique.

The wait for the ultimate title continues for RCB fans. For IPL 2025, the team has formed a balanced squad, but the announcement of the captain is yet to be made. Virat Kohli was reported to be in line for the reinstatement of the captain, but the speculations remain unconfirmed.

RCB spokesperson addressed Virat Kohli’s captaincy rumours

With the IPL 2025 season just around the corner, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have managed to create some buzz by splitting with Faf du Plessis as their captain. The burning question now is whether Virat Kohli will return to the leadership role he had surrendered in 2021. Though no such announcement has been made, RCB COO Rajesh Menon said they have a number of players in the team with leadership quality and that they will decide soon.
