In a significant development, Gujarat Titans have appointed former Indian wicketkeeper-batter Parthiv Patel as their new assistant and batting coach ahead of IPL 2025. This strategic move comes just weeks before the IPL mega auction, scheduled for November 24 and 25 in Jeddah. The 2022 IPL champions confirmed the appointment in an official statement on Wednesday (November 13). 

The franchise highlighted that Parthiv’s extensive experience, both as a player and in talent scouting, would be a valuable asset to the team's preparations for the upcoming season.

"The Gujarat Titans are pleased to announce the appointment of Parthiv Patel as their new Assistant and Batting Coach. With a distinguished 17-year career as a former Indian wicketkeeper-batter, Parthiv brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team. As the Titans prepare for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season, Parthiv's insights into batting techniques and strategies will play a crucial role in enhancing the players' skills. Parthiv, who is known for his sharp cricketing acumen and ability to mentor young talent, will strengthen the coaching staff and contribute to player development and performance," Gujarat Titans said in a statement.

It is also important to note that before joining the Gujarat Titans, former cricketer was associated with the Mumbai Indians (MI) as a talent scout for three seasons. During his stint with MI, he was frequently spotted at domestic matches and age-group tournaments across the country, where he played a crucial role in identifying emerging talent for the franchise. 

This deep involvement in the domestic circuit makes him a valuable addition to the Gujarat Titans' camp as prepare for IPL 2025.

Parthiv Patel's appointment comes as a replacement for former head coach Gary Kirsten, who recently departed the franchise to take up a role as Pakistan’s white-ball team coach. Under Kirsten's guidance, the Titans secured their maiden IPL title in 2022, and his exit opened the door for fresh leadership within the coaching staff.
