The IPL 2024 is all set to start on 22nd of March and the whole tournament will be played in India, contrary to some reports which claimed that the second phase will be played in U.A.E.

Jay Shah, the secretary of BCCI has confirmed that there are no plans of shifting IPL outside India, and it will be held completely in India just like it happened during the previous Lok Sabha Elections back in 2019.

During the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, the IPL was fully moved to South Africa while in 2014, the first half was held in U.A.E and the second half was played in India.

Jay Shah though is confident this time around that security won’t be an issue, and has confirmed the news of IPL not moving overseas to Cricbuzz with elections set to be held in seven phases from April 19.

So, with election dates released, we can also expect the schedule of second phase of IPL 2024 to be out soon. As of now, only the schedule till 7th of April has been released with Delhi Capitals home matches shifted to Vizag.

The 17th edition will kick-off with CSK going head-to-head against RCB on March 22 at the Chepauk in Chennai.
