DEL-W vs BAN-W: Toss Factor

The Arun Jaitley Stadium has a variety of pitches, two of which have been actively utilised in the WPL 2024. One is a sluggish turner that helps the spinners and pacers rather than the batsmen. The other surface is a belter, with one side having short pockets. While bowlers continue to receive help in both strips with wear and tear being a factor, the batters tend to aim more towards the shorter sides.

Scenario: If Royal Challengers Bangalore win the toss

  •   Smriti Mandhana may chose to bat first after a win in the last game in a similar way.
  •  Their spinners have been doing great; at least three of them should be in the team.
  • Ellyse Perry is a mandatory pick while there can be a toss up between Richa and Smriti.

Scenario: If Delhi Capitals win the toss

  • Going in a must-win game, Lanning may chose to bat first.
  • Their three overseas picks are very important - Marizanne Kapp, Meg Lanning and Jess Jonassen.
  • Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues have been in stellar form while Radha Yadav and either Indian pacer could be differential.

DEL-W vs BAN-W: Top Captain and Vice-captain Picks

Scenario: If  Royal Challengers Bangalore win the match

Ellyse Perry (BAN-W): The Australia G.O.A.T has been marvellous with her all-round skills in the ensuing competition. Having scored 312 runs from eight innings, she averages 62.40 with the willow and owns the orange cap. She also took a six-for against the Mumbai Indians in the last league stage match and dismantled their batting order.

Shreyanka Patil could be a good choice for the match [X]Shreyanka Patil could be a good choice for the match [X]

Shreyanka Patil (BAN-W): The local talent of RCB has flourished with time. She has been brilliant with the ball in the Delhi leg and scalped seven wickets in her last three matches, since her return from a niggle. Shreyanka has been exceptional at times in crucial junctures and can also play quickfire lower down the order.

Scenario: If Delhi Capitals win the match

Marizanne Kapp has been in great all-round form [X]Marizanne Kapp has been in great all-round form [X]

Marizanne Kapp (DEL-W): The three dimensional cricketer has snapped eleven wickets in the tourney and earned the purple cap recently. She can also be dangerous with the bat apart from being an exceptional bowler across various phases of the game.

Meg Lanning (DEL-W): The skipper of the side has the most fifties in the bonanza event with the number reading four. She has been exceptional with the bat and has often read the circumstances perfectly to help the Capitals gain advantage and momentum. She would look to lead the side from the front in this big event.

DEL-W vs BAN-W: High Risk, High Reward

Shafali Verma (DEL-W): On her day, Verma is a game-changer with the bat. She is a proven match-winner and the last league stage match against Gujarat Giants is a great example to justify it. She has scored 265 runs from eight innings and her 15 sixes in the tourney is the highest so far in the coveted season.

Richa Ghosh (BAN-W): The wicketkeeper-batter has excellent behind the stumps in the last game despite a stumping err in the slog overs. Richa is a fine talent and has the ability to win matches with her abilities. Her fifty against the same opposition almost sealed the deal in their reverse fixture during the league stages. Although she has blown hot and cold, it won't be shocking to see if she gets to take her team over the line in the main event stage.

DEL-W vs BAN-W: Stay Aways

Disha Kasat (BAN-W): After batting lower down the order in the last couple of league stage assignments, Disha Kasat got the opportunity to bat higher but failed to prove her mettle by scoring a horrendous duck. While RCB may go unchanged in the final, it is better to avoid Kasat for the fantasy team's multiplier points.

Taniya Bhatia (DEL-W): The wicketkeeper-batter bats very low in the batting order and tends to get bare minimum balls to face. Bhatia may give points with her keeping skills but its likely not to feature in the dream team.
