In a rare low scoring game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, Delhi Capitals (DC) trashed Gujarat Titans (GT) to secure a mega six wicket win.

After Mukesh Kumar and Ishant Sharma’s heroics reduced GT to 89 runs, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Shai Hope, and Rishabh Pant’s equal contributions propelled DC to their third win of the season in just 8.5 overs.

Here’s the timeline of how GT vs DC panned out in Ahmedabad-

GT vs DC Highlights: Mukesh, Ishant topple GT’s top order in powerplay

In the first massive blow to GT, captain Shubman Gill was sent packing by Ishant Sharma in just the second over of the first innings. What followed after was nothing short of a horror show as three wickets tumbled in a span of just overs.

After Wriddhiman Shah was cleaned up Mukesh Kumar, Sai Sudharsan gifted his wicket in a suicide run out.

GT’s final hope, David Miller, fell victim to Rishabh Pant’s fine efforts behind the stumps.

GT vs DC Highlights: Pant’s Lightning-Quick Hands Remove Manohar

GT was still reeling from the early collapse before DC captain Rishabh Pant pulled off a special stumping with his lightning-quick hands.

Tristan Stubbs deceived Abhinav Manohar with a slider that angled across and beat the batter from all front. Before Manohar could drag his feet back into the crease, Pant sharply collected the ball and disturbed the bails in a jiffy.

GT vs DC Highlights: Mukesh Wraps Up GT’s Innings

GT was unable to recover from the early setbacks and wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals as DC pacers tightened the leash. While Rashid Khan tried his best to put a respectable total on the board, Mukesh Kumar’s short length delivery was too good for Rashid.

To finish things on a high, Mukesh struck again to clean up Noor Ahmad.

GT vs DC Highlights: Fraser-McGurk Off To A Blazing Start

Chasing a lowly target of 90 runs, DC promoted Jake Fraser McGurk to the order in David Warner’s absence, and the Australian protege didn’t disappoint.

To ensure GT goes off to a blazing start, Jake went after Sandeep Warrier to slam a thumping lofted six straight down the ground, which left DC coach Sourav Ganguly impressed as he donned a cheeky smile

GT Vs DC Highlights: Pant, Sumit Seal Things

After a couple of anti-climaxing moments, Rishabh Pant and Sumit Kumar completed the formalities, and Sumit came up with the winning runs off Noor Ahmad.

Delhi Capitals chased down the 90 runs total in 8.5 overs, thus strengthening their NRR on the points table.
