Shubman Gill managed to list a couple of confident boundaries off Khaleel Ahmed and Ishant Sharma before he was entrapped by the latter in just the second over of the Gujarat Titans innings.

Leading his side at Ahmedabad’s iconic Narendra Modi Stadium against Delhi Capitals in match number 32 of the IPL 2024 season, Gill went after Ishant’s full delivery outside off, only to chip the ball towards Prithvi Shaw at cover region.

His early dismissal triggered a colossal top-order collapse for the Gujarat Titans, as they ended up losing each of their top four batters for just 30 runs at the end of the opening powerplay.

Following Gujarat Titans’ batting setback early in the game, several fans and followers of Indian cricket took to X (formerly Twitter) and disparaged captain Shubman Gill for his ‘inconsistent run’ with the bat this season.

Moreover, several social media users also claimed that the Gujarat Titans batting order tends to be failing without Gill’s assistance off late.
