With the T20 World Cup in sight, Indian senior team chief selector Ajit Agarkar is set to meet head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma to discuss several key points regarding the team's selection and composition for the big ICC event.

ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is a few weeks away and the Indian team is yet to be locked. As the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) season unravels, Indian selectors are keeping an eye on potential options to add to the scheme of things at the last minute.

That being said, as reported by Dainik Jagran, chief selector Ajit Agarkar is scheduled to hold a key meeting with head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma soon to discuss a few key points to be kept in mind whilst the team selection process.

Apparently, the management is discussing the possibility of Virat Kohli being a feasible opener alongside Rohit for the T20 World Cup 2024. Notably, the duo have played as openers in the past in the shorter format.

Moreover, if Kohli ends up in the opening slot, Shubman Gill will likely be added to the final squad as a backup opener.

The next big point of discussion will be the inclusion of Hardik Pandya. If the Dainik Jagran report is to be believed, the management could ask Pandya to bowl more in the IPL to ensure his selection as an all-rounder.

Besides, Agarkar also wants feedback on the possible inclusion of Rajasthan Royal (RR) explosive batter Riyan Parag. The selectors are intrigued to explore how Parag could fit into the squad inspired by his latest heroics in IPL.

With the team selection deadline approaching, it's still unclear when the alleged meeting will take place.
