The 32nd match of IPL 2024 between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals has not started well for the home team GT as they were reduced to 66-7 in the 12th over. DC bowlers were on target right from the first over and one of those wickets came off a controversial stumping of Shahrukh Khan by Rishabh Pant.

It was a touch shortish delivery from 'round the wicket by Tristan Stubbs and it was pitched around off. Shahrukh skipped down the track a bit and when he saw the ball turning down the leg side, he tried to work it towards the leg side. He missed it though and Rishabh Pant behind the stumps too failed to grab it cleanly as the ball slipped out of his hand and hit the stumps.

Shahrukh was clearly out of his crease but there was doubt whether he has broken the stumps with the hand or with the ball, and in the end after long deliberations which were not conclusive, it was given out by the third umpire. 

Pant's gloves did hit the stumps but the bails came off only when the ball hit the stumps and eventually, Shahrukh Khan departed for a golden duck to leave GT in deep hole.
