Nicholas Pooran just did the unthinkable. The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batter smashed a 15-ball fifty against the RCB in a 213 run tricky chase at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. This was the fastest fifty of this season's IPL.
When Marcus Stoinis departed for a well-crafted 65, things looked done and dusted for the visiting team, but Pooran gave a life to a lifeless innings and has put LSG in a strong position to clinch a famous win.
He made his intentions clear from ball one and took on each and every RCB Bowler.
When he came out to bat, LSG had just lost Stoinis and KL Rahul, and needed a miracle to stay alive in the contest.
With no express pacer in the RCB department, it made the southpaw’s job a touch easier as he toyed away with firstly the spinners, and then the three pacers - Harshal Patel, Wayne Parnell, and David Willey.
It was raining sixes as the West Indian batter smashed 7 sixes and has been playing at a strike-rate of 344.
He is amply supported by Ayush Badoni, who is playing a perfect second fiddle to Pooran.
LSG now only need 26 off 22 balls.
